    Onboard regulations

To ensure you feel comfortable at all times on board, we have compiled some important information for you. It is intended to help you find your way around and prepare in advance for various situations during your cruise.

Bank / Payment Methods / Credit Cards / Onboard Credit

The official currency on board is the US dollar. Upon embarkation, an onboard account will be created for you. You can make cashless payments on board using your cruise card.

If you register your credit card at embarkation, your onboard account will automatically be settled via this credit card. The following credit cards are accepted: Visa, MasterCard, Diners Club, American Express. If you do not provide a credit card, you will be asked to leave a cash deposit at embarkation.

When booking the Premium fare, you will usually receive non-transferable onboard credit. This cannot be used for medical treatments on board, in the casino, or for purchasing future cruises on board.

    German-speaking Contact On Board

The reception staff (Purser's Desk) will be happy to assist you with any questions or issues. On most cruises, a German-speaking host/hostess is available to assist German-speaking guests.

Please note that the general language on board is English. It is therefore advantageous to have a basic knowledge of English. Daily programs, onboard announcements, and menus are available in German. A small selection of German-language reading material is usually available in the library.

    Electricity

The voltage in the cabins is 110V. Additionally, there is a 220V outlet in the bathroom. We recommend bringing a universal adapter.

    Dress Code On Board

During the day, you may opt for a comfortable dress style on Cunard ships, e.g., shorts, long trousers, T-shirts, cardigans, blazers, sweatshirts, swimwear, or sportswear. Swimwear is not permitted in indoor restaurants.

One of the highlights of every Cunard cruise is the glamorous evening events on board. To underline the particularly elegant atmosphere of the evening dinners, dress recommendations are provided in the daily program.

In general, both formal and informal evenings take place on board. If you prefer casual clothing on formal evenings, you are welcome to dine in the buffet restaurant.

    Gala Evenings

Gala evenings follow various themes that add an extra touch of glamour. The respective themes are announced in advance in the “My Voyage” calendar so that appropriate attire can be planned.

    Black and White

For Black and White gala evenings, guests are invited to dress entirely in black or white or to choose patterns that combine both colors.

    Red and Gold

Celebrate Cunard’s rich heritage with red bow ties, gold accents, red dinner jackets, or dresses in red and gold. The intensity of the theme is entirely up to you.

    Roaring 20s

Even a subtle reference to the theme is sufficient – for example, a pocket square in Art Deco style or a feather hair accessory. Those who wish can fully embrace the 1920s look.

    Masquerade Ball

An evening full of mystery and elegance awaits as Cunard transports guests to Renaissance Venice. Regardless of your outfit, you are encouraged to bring or create a suitable mask.

    Beverage Packages

Beverage packages are available at different prices depending on the duration of the cruise. By booking in advance via Cunard “My Voyage,” you save 10% compared to purchasing on board. After boarding, you can conveniently order your preferred bottles through your sommelier or cabin steward.

    Captain’s Collection

    Commodore’s Collection

Critically acclaimed wines, carefully selected by experts. Premium quality, impressive variety – with savings of up to 25%.

    Gratuities

Cunard does not automatically charge gratuities to your onboard account. Guests are free to tip cabin and restaurant stewards. Tips are welcome but not expected. If you wish to reward the entire hotel team, a form is available in your cabin which can be submitted at the Purser’s Office.

    Internet

With onboard Wi-Fi, it is easy to stay connected with friends and family. You can use your laptop, tablet, smartphone, iPad, and some newer eReader models, or one of the internet terminals in ConneXions 1 and the library (available 24 hours a day).

    What you should know:

Wi-Fi is available in most areas of the ship 24 hours a day.

Satellite internet is significantly slower than on land and may not always be available due to weather conditions or obstructions such as mountains. Cunard does not guarantee data privacy.

Please check the signal strength before logging in. If the signal is weak, move to another area. In cabins, you may need to leave the door slightly open. If using a mobile device with a SIM card, ensure mobile data and roaming are turned off.
